Larry Gillette

My name is Larry Gillette, and I’m proud to be a Broker Associate at Legacy Real Estate Co. I was born in Wichita, Kansas, and moved to Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 7, where I grew up.

After graduating high school, I attended Hanover College for two years before joining the Air Force. My service included two years of intensive education and training, followed by two years as a Chinese Mandarin Interpreter, flying missions out of Tokyo, Japan, and Osan, Korea. These experiences even led to an exciting opportunity—I landed a role in the classic comedy movie Stripes!

Sales have always been a natural fit for me. Over the years, I’ve sold men’s clothing, swimming pools, radio advertising, and, most notably, real estate. My real estate journey began in May 1978 in Louisville, KY. In 1990, I relocated to Hopkinsville, KY, where I resumed my real estate career and have been actively serving clients ever since.

I’ve worked with buyers and sellers across diverse markets, including residential, commercial, and agricultural real estate. Whether helping families find their next home or their dream home, I strive to make the process seamless and rewarding. Additionally, I’ve partnered with HUD to sell their homes and assisted banks in evaluating and selling repossessed properties.

My dedication to the profession, combined with years of experience and ongoing education, has earned me the distinguished Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation—one of the highest honors a Realtor can achieve.

On a personal note, I’ve been married to my wife, Sylvia, a Hopkinsville native, for 39 wonderful years. Together, we share four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who bring immense joy to our lives.
